Monday: Fauna & flora Workshop

Mondays at 4:30 PM, during school holidays (Easter, summer and All Saints’ Day, all zones).

Come and discover and listen to the Gizeux forest and its many inhabitants. Find out more about the small animals that live in the forest. Learn to recognise trees by their leaves and understand how the eco-system works, so that you can see the role of humans and their responsibility in respecting the environment.

Tuesday: Storytelling & snacking Workshop

Tuesdays at 4:30 PM, during school holidays (Easter, summer and All Saints’ Day, all zones).

The Storytelling and Snacking at Château de Gizeux is an activity in which children discover the album “Marion et la vie qui bat” by Quebec children’s author Roxane Turcotte.
The young participants learned that stories are sometimes based on real events, as “Marion et la vie qui bat” was born from a family memory recounted by Stéphanie de Laffon to the author.

The activity ends with a light snack for the children.

Wednesday & Thursday: Bread oven Workshop

Wednesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 PM, during school holidays (Easter, summer and All Saints’ Day, all zones).

Come and discover the world of the Gizeux baker. Built in the 18th century, the bread oven could feed up to a hundred people living in this large house. Now back in use, the bread oven is being brought back to life for a day to help children discover the different stages in bread’s manufacture.

Of course, the workshop will end with a tasting session, during which the children will be invited to share their bread rolls.

Friday: Stained glass Workshop

Fridays at 4:30 PM, during school holidays (Easter, summer and All Saints’ Day, all zones).

Invented in the Middle Ages, stained glass is a glass composition made up of pieces of glass. These can be white or coloured. Stained glass diffuses light and colour.
After observing the stained glass windows in the château, make your own stained glass window using tracing paper and play with transparency and light reflections.
